This is Living With Lung Cancer: in Pamela's Words
I didn't know how strong I was until I got diagnosed with lung cancer.
I’m a pretty strong-headed person, and I’ve walked this journey, and I’ve pushed forward with it.
Comprehensive Biomarker testing after my lung cancer diagnosis helped me.
Advice I would give to someone recently diagnosed is to go to their doctor and ask about biomarker testing. They’re going to find out if their cancer has specific mutations and if there are available treatment options for these mutations. Find out more about biomarker testing.
Being a lung cancer advocate.
I started my own support group. I have wonderful people on there. They’re from all over, not just the United States. I go on there and help them and talk to them. I’m not a doctor, so I don’t give them medical advice. I just try to talk them through the steps that they’re going through. I know what they’re going through, because I’ve been through it. Never give up.
That’s what I tell everybody . . . don’t give up, because there’s too much out there today.
